Gatesville, Texas Speed Traps

My family and I was driving through the community of Gatesville, I was pulled over by a City police officer for speeding, the officer claimed. Do not drive or go to the City of Gatesville it is a speed Trap. Please bypass that Community.

Gatesville, Texas Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety sit with their lights off at night waiting for Travelers. If call the Police Department or Coryell County Sheriff’s Department , they will tell you it’s none of our business, what they do. They have the right to set up anyway they want to , any where in town or outside of town. Gatesville, Texas Police Department and DPS. The public have put it on Facebook , but they have been ask to take it down by Law Enforcement.

The Gatesville Police and Sheriff’s Dept, has Speed traps for Fort Hood Soliders and TDCJ workers at the Prisons. They also harass elderly people.

speed limit drops from 65 mph to 50 mph…no reduced speed warning signs and speed limit sign is right before a large intersection with blinking caution lights. It is distracting when you are not familiar with that area and concentrating on the traffic and the intersection. No signs saying entering Fort Hood or speed limit warnings. Citations given in Fort Hood are not forgiven at all.

The entire City of Gatesville is monitored by the City of Gatesville Police Department so watch out. This city is well known for writting tickets ranging from 8 miles over the posted speed limit and up. It is department policy to write tickets to help the funding of new equiptment. This policy was enacted by the newly appointed chief of police and his new sergeant and Lt. Gatesville is also known for tacking on a few miles to bump up thier ticket fines. The good officers left the department approximately 1.5 years ago and have been replaced rouge cops whom punish the community with collateral fines
