Guadalupe, Texas Speed Traps
State Highway 46 near US Highway 10
There is a segment of SH46 from Interstate 10 in Seguin north towards FM 758. Back in April 2008 TXDOT changed the speed limit from 65 mph down to 60 mph. It seems that DPS are unable to keep up with speed limits they are enforcing. My friend was stopped by DPS for speeding in this segment of SH46 in Sept 2007 when it was posted 65 mph, however the DPS officer wrote him a speeding ticket for 74 mph in a 60 mph zone which was not posted until April 2008. My friend hired an attorney and taking this DPS officer to court. One of his relatives is a 30 yr retired TX DPS officer and sent a letter of concern to the Colonel in my friends behalf. Of course these DPS officers sometimes don’t know who they wrongfully are pulling over. Get this, the DPS officer drew his weapon on my friend for speeding. I watched the DPS car video and this did happen! Is speeding a felony now in Texas?
