Hickory Creek, Texas Speed Traps
Interstate 35 before Lake Lewisville
Once you see the sign for Hickory Creek city limits you better slow down. One cop car usually hides behind the bend right before you hit the lake. Cop sits and runs his radar. They are usually in a Dodge Charger but i have seen them in a Chevy Tahoe as well. Speed limit is 60.
Lake Dallas, Texas
The City Of Lake Dallas is a Speed trap. When you come anywhere near this city be on-guard! I just completed defensive driving school and for the record 65 per cent of the class had received tickets in Lake Dallas, Texas.
Rave Theater Entrance off Service Road
Going south from Swisher Road on the service road, past IHOP, and just past Ventanna Road there is an entrance to the Rave Theater parking lot. Just noticed today, 5/28/2010, Hickory Creek cop sitting in the entrance facing the service road behind a row of trees and bushes which blocks the view of southbound traffic on the service road. Traffic coming down the service road cannot see him. They shoot radar on southbound service road traffic through the gaps. Very well hidden. Seems Hickory Creek is always looking for new places to hide. They do not sit in the open like other cities do, they always hide.
Hickory Creek, TX North to Corinth, TX on Interstate 35
I have seen several postings for Hickory Creek and Corinth and I’m here to tell you they are all true. I have lived in this area for 50 years and these two little burgs have always had the reputation of speed traps. Even when they only had one cop it was known as ticket alley down this stretch of I-35. Now that the two towns have grown and many people have moved into this area, it is like a shark smelling blood in the water. I live in Corinth now and I warn everyone to heed every posted trap on this site, they are all true. every day of the week they are out there. They don’t care if they are out of their jurisdiction either.
Southbound Service Rd. south of Swisher Rd. I-35
Hickory Creek P.D. has a new game.Officer sits in entrance to subdivision just before entrance ramp on southbound side service rd. and shoots laser back towards traffic just topping hill by Chilli’s restaurant. The Distance is long and you have virtually no warning. They will be there every morning and heavily on saturday evenings…the possibility of getting an accurate reading at about a mile and half through trees and brush does not dissuade them,as another citizen honestly pointed out…they are vultures and most of their city revenue is derived from this activity. The town has been known for years as a group of bloodthirsty
pirates..Beware
