Hico, Texas Speed Traps
HWY 281
Speed drops from 70-60-50-45-35 all in the span of like 200 ft. Officer parks car directly in front of th 45mph sign and will write a citation for the 5 over. Sad that this is what broke towns do nowadays.
220 hwy
Goes from 70 to 50 to 35 in a very short distance…if at night a very dark area….especially if watching for deer crossing roads…..poor trick to play on people in such a dark winding country road…add lights so you realize your entry to a town.
Hico, TX
Speed drops are sudden. There are multiple stops by officer in a short time
interval. When another vehicle is stopped within 5 minutes of a first stop,
what can be concern shown re proper set up or interference with radar.
Granbury, Cresson, and one other place on US 377 toward Ft Worth forewarn
of sudden drops in speed limit using the yellow diamond with limit sign inside
it. Revenue trumps safety here, especially given a school zone is involved at
the north end of town.
Highway 281
Driving into Hico going N on 281 there is a hill and a curve. People coming in from hwy speed of 70mph suddenly encounter a 45mph speed limit sign. Radar is set to record speed just as you enter the 45 mph zone. The curve blocks your view of the speed limit sign.
State Highway 220
At 7:10 AM you will come over a hill going south on Hwy 220 and suddenly you are suppose to go from 70 MPH to 35 MPH for a school zone. Hope you have good brakes.
