La Joya, Texas Speed Traps

I have been pulled over here before and many of my friends have too. In front of a old school building coming from Rio Grande city, you’ll see police vehicles parked at an angle on each side in the middle of the street. Every time i pass through there i see cars being pulled over. Seems like their main source of income. Watch out for the police and they will literally pull you over for anything.

2nd try to get LA JOYA, TX on the list. I will try no more if this does not go.

I have not been ticketed there; But many complains from friends and others, qualifies this as a speed trap. I go by this trap and you have to be at least 3 to 5 mph below or else, you get it. I know other stories about the cops, but I am not allowed to tell by the rules I just read.
Like you mentioned, I do not want my name known. There is always one or two cops with cars stopped. I try to avoid this area. I understand a bypass will be built soon, but when and if it will help the motorists, I don’t know. It appears like this is a source of income for this town.

From the town of Penitas to La joya on expressway 83 and then from La Joya to Sullivan City where the speed limit is only 55 mph and there ar only 2 speed limit signs in a 11 miles of road. Lots of hiding places for DPS and they seem to travel in”wolf packs”” “
