Lago Vista, Texas Speed Traps

Cops routinely patrol this area, and hide out at night with their lights off looking to bust people. It is not at all about public safety, but instead about revenue.

Hwy 100 has a speed limit of 65. The in town (town is being very generous) speed limt goes down to 45 then up by increments of 10 mph as you leave the municipality. I was clocked at 68 in a 55. The officer was coming in the opposite direct (out of jurisdiction). I actually passed the 65 mph speed limit marker a quarter mile before he stopped me. I’d fight it but can not afford to take the time to do so. This is strictly a revenue source for the town vs. a safety effort. (my opinion)
