Laporte, Texas Speed Traps
Spencer Hwy
I have heard about the speed traps in Laporte. Best way to avoid them is to simply not go to that town. People have to learn to steer clear of areas that are hostile to visitors.

The feeder on State Highway 146 north bound just past Shore Acres. The speed limit is 65 MPH on Highway 146, the feeder is 45 MPH then just before the red light it drops to 35 MPH. The officer sets just past the speed limit sign (35MPH) in a dead end driveway facing traffic. They use the motel parking lot to pull you over in. When I paid the ticket there was three other people that got stopped by the same officer in the same area. I went back and it seems to me that the speed limit signs are higher than others.
