Liverpool, Texas Speed Traps

Liverpool (pop 400) is a small village off Highway 35 southwest of Alvin. Calhoun Street (CR 171) runs from FM 2917 down towards Angleton and has a posted speed limit of 30 through town. There are curves on the road but the stretch from FM 2917 to CR 171 is mainly straight. The town has 3 city police officers and Sheriff’s Department also watches the area.

The basic trap is there are no noticable patrol vehicles. There is 3 to 4 patrol cars, with magnets on the side stating (Liverpool PD). Officers can be anywhere, but mostly on main roads. Speed limits are 45, except where the post office is. This is where it goes to 30. The speed limits are not out of line, because they are children that play outside. This is just to let the fishermen, and hunters know to be careful in this small blip on the map. You will get a ticket.
