Lometa, Texas Speed Traps

As you are driving on a 70 miles per hour Highway you clearly see the town coming up so you begin to slow down and a cop immediately stops you when the speed begins to go down 2:40. There’s no time to literally go from 70 to 40 in that time period I was slowing down because clearly there was a stoplight coming up and I explained this to the officer and they still gave me the ticket. Complete speed trap complete waste of my money. This town should be ashamed of themselves.

Comimg into the city traveling south bound the speed limit goes from 70mph to 40mph in a very short distance down hill. Got a ticket today for 54, clearly i was slowing down…just a podunk town trying to make $

Have traveled this route my entire adult life and just recently, the city has seemed to have hired additional reserve policemen and instructed them to generate funding through traffic fines.

It goes from 75 to 70 to 55 in a very short downhill distance and cops have it dialed in for a revenue stream.

South end of town. Local cop clocks traffic on US 183- intended to make travelers stop and spend a little money, whether they want to or not ;-/
