Marion, Texas Speed Traps

Speed limit signs are posted right after a long stretch of a speed zone that is at least 20 miles faster and they run right after you the minute you cross into the town. Appears to have only ONE cop and he shows up for the court hearings. This is nothing but a town in need of money using speed trap as the means to get it.

At night, a GUARANTEED trap by the Dollar store coming into Marion.

FM 78 East of city, between N.Barnette St. and the Post office.
The Speed limit is 35mph out of the downtown area, but the last speed limit sign is actually in the downtown area. Entering onto 78 from N.Barnette St. (East of downtown), the 35mph limit is not posted and the first sign you will see is a 50mph sign. They sit on the right side of the road just prior to, or equal to, the 50mph sign as it comes into visibility, and will catch you as you speed up prior to the sign.

Farm road with mostly fields. Trap sits by gate to field behind trees and bushes. Speed limit is 35 for short distance past 6 homes.
