Plano, Texas Speed Traps
Spring Creek near Rainier
Aplies from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM and 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM. This a school zone. After the intersection of Spring Creek and Rainier (going west), the school zone continues. They are hidden behind a curve on a side street just before the end on the unnessarily long school zone, where most people are likely to speed.
Legacy between Independence and Coit
They sit in the side streets behind the village names or trees blocking them from view and then since there are about 3 of them sitting back there, they send one after you as soon as you pass the street. My mom got a ticket for going something like 48 in the 40 mph speed zone which is stupid because everyone takes Legacy faster then Spring Creek and Spring Creek is supposed to be 45 mph.
75 from Plano Parkway to Legacy
The Plano PD is now using air surveillance from their helicopter to do speed enforcement on Central. They time you between two points and compute speed. Keep an eye out for their helicopter
Custer Rd Between SH 121 and Mcdermott
North and South bound traffic will see the familiar Black and White of the Plano Police here . They usually sit in turn lanes waiting for you to crest the hills in the area. A tip, they can see you before you can see them. Keep that in mind. As said previously, Plano Police cut you no slack. Oh, and another thing, Most of the officers that sit here do not leave their radar transmitting, so radar detectors are of little or no help
Corner of Mc Dermott and Bear Creek
They will have several up to four officers hiding behind a wall and after they Laser you, they run out in the street and fine you for the stop.
