Central Expressway (Highway 75) between Spring Creek and Park Blvd.

Plano, TexasMar 01, 20010 Comments

Plano police drive or park in the opposing lane’s shoulder and take speeds most commonly using Ka Band Radar, or as recently discovered they now use Lidar which is used heavily off the the Parker overpass. Further, watch out for the white stripes 500 feet after the Spring Creek bridge because they are a VASCAR timing mark! Motorcycle cops are no stranger to the pillars under the Parker and the Park overpasses. The posed speed limit is 65, but traffic commonly flows 70-75 MPH.

This is an area that has no stoplights for miles. So average speed is about 10 miles faster than posted. PLANO NOTICE: The police in Plano tend to single out anyone with pride stickers (rainbows)- a pair of 2 squad cars will surround you and try to scare you into a traffic violation. (one tailgates while the other flanks the side of your car) It’s really terrifying, and I and my friends have had it happen a total of 10 times – always at night in Plano. It’s insane.
