Port Lavaca, Texas Speed Traps

there are cameras set at most all the red lights going thru Port Lavaca. If you roll upon the big white strip, or do not stop completely on a red before turning right, you get flashed. The fine is $75 sent thru the mail with a pic of you.

Coming from 238 down Commerce (238 turns into Commerce about 6 blocks back) when you go into a gentle curve the speed limit is 30, then goes to 35. The highway patrol sets there and gets people coming and going because from the other way, it runs from 45 down to 40, then 35 and 30 very quickly…they get many a speeder and also dwi’s. They actually are waitin to nab people coming out of a beer place there and down the street.

North and Southbound limits strictly enforced. Northbound the speed limit changes from 70 to 55 at highway 185 drivers should obey as DPS works this area reguarly and more on Fridays and Weekends into early morning hours.
