San Antonio, Texas Speed Traps
McCullough Avenue near Hildebrand Avenue
This speed trap can be anywhere on McCullough from Hildebrand to Basse (mainly closer to the Hildebrand side). The enforcement is ridiculous – I know someone who got pulled over for going 32 in the 30 mph zone. The road is long and wide, yet the cops take advantage of the fact that the speed limit is only 30, which seems too slow for this kind of road.
Harriman Street near State Highway 90
Two SAPD MotorCycle police setup right before the ON-RAMP of Harriman onto Westbound HWY90. One Officer tracks and the other pulls you over. They will line vehicles and ticket you one at a time. They are right before the on-ramp, so DO-NOT speed up until you are on the actual ramp.
Chase Hill Boulevard near 1604 Loop
This is across the street fom an elementary school, so it does bear some forgiveness. However the cops are rarely there during school zone times, and wait on an offroad that you can’t see until you get around the turn for college students speeding by. It is less than a mile from UTSA, and there are several primarily college apartment complexes right there.
1604 Loop
The new feeder/access roads for Loop 1604 between Bitters and NW Military… watch out for SAPD! The feeders are built and designed to handle 55-65 mph but the signs say 45mph and you don’t expect it! SAPD will sit like cowards on the blind side of a hill just waiting to nab you!
IH35 Between South Alamo & Hwy 90
Take the upper ramp at the split.Cops are hidden on access ramp at South Alamo and are stopping primarily truckers. Three cars consistantly patrol this area and you will not see them until it is to late. I regularly see one to three trucks pulled over at a time.
