Sanger, Texas Speed Traps
Interstate 35
Although the speed limit is posted, most people expect the Interstate to be 65 mph not 55 mph. They will write you a ticket and the local JP office in Sanger is not very merciful.
FM 455 near Chisholm Trail School
Sanger police will wait in the Chisholm Trail school parking lot to target traffic inbound to Sanger on FM455 during the early morning hours while it’s still dark. The speed limit drops quickly in this area. When I pass this location at 4:00 a.m., it’s rare not to see the police on a hunting expedition. The locals know to slow down.
US Highway I 35 near Chism Road
Deputy will stand on overpass behind the sign and shoot radar on vehicles below. Usually numerous patrol cars are waiting down the road to snag the people clocked. I35 between Denton and north of Sanger routinely patroled.
FM 4455
Sunday morning around 7:40am going out to Lake Ray Roberts four members of a caravan of about 10 were pulled over by Four members of the Sanger police department. Interestingly, the police officer that pulled myself and another member of the caravan over stated we were going 50mph in a 30mph zone. Funny thing is that the person I was directly following was ticketed for 45mph (by another police officer). So you may want to ask to see the radar reading–not ever having received a ticket before I didn’t know any better. 30mph sign is not very apparent. Look for it around a well branched tree and local candidate signs.
