Schertz, Texas Speed Traps
FM 1518 near Interstate 10
On FM 1518 between I-10 and FM 78 in Schertz. Rolling or hidden enforcement. Got nabbed on a deserted FM 1518 doing a blistering 66 in a 55 on a week night about 10:30PM returning home with the wife and kids from a San Antonio Missions baseball game (what a joke!)…got delayed adjudication (means…be a good driving boy for 60 days…does not go on my driving record)…fee for the pleasure was $162 out the door (that really “vacuums”” if you get my drift)…they get you either coming or going around these parts.”
Lower Seguin Road near South End of RAFB Runways
Lower Sequin Road is a brand new completly rural road, just outside the south gates of Randolph, AFB. The Speed Limit is 40 MPH. A cop hides behind a building near Runway 32R at Randolph. I was riding my sport bike east at triple digit speeds because of the wideopeness of this road. Luckily I was slowing down (77 MPH), when the cop got me. Even the cop admitted that he wouldn’t even write tickets unless driver was going 55 MPH or greater, due to the road conditions. This is the worst speedtrap that I have ever seen, and I have lived in many places while serving in the military.
Schertz Parkway near Maske Road
Trap is on the downhill, southern side of Schertz Parkway. Schertz PD will hide on Maske Rd catching cars that will naturally speed up going downhill. Trap has been known to be set at Ashley Park and Schertz Parkway which happens to be an end to a school zone.
