University Park, Texas Speed Traps
Lovers Lane, Tollway to 75
UP cops have about 5 main areas that they hide out in on Lovers Lane. Most of these areas are open parking lots on the south side of Lovers Lane and poorly lit. With their dark SUV’s it’s easy for them to hid out in these areas:
Lovers/Douglas – usually by Petco parking lot
About 2 blocks east of Preston, in a cul-de-sac next to a large white house.
In front of the elementary school or the park at Lovers/Golf
About 3-4 blocks east of Hillcrest in church parking lot
Typically they will tell you that you were driving 5-7 miles faster than you really were. Reputable Dallas attorneys who specialize in traffic court will usually not take cases where the infraction happened in University Park because it is usually worse for the driver if they do.

As you come southbound on Hillcrest, the officer will either be parked in the parking by Caruth Boulevard or will be on one of the side streets, such as on Stanford Street east of Hillcrest. You are coming down a hill when you come southbound on Hillcrest. The speed suggested by the officer has the likelihood of being higher than what you actually may have been going.
