Waco, Texas Speed Traps

Almost every Sat. a police radar unit sits across the street from the old Village Green Apt complex on Lake Shore Dr. catching traffic coming across the bridge from MCC’s direction and writes tickets…lots and lots of tickets…beware!

Jurisdiction is the small town of Itasca, located between Waco and Hillsborough. Catches speeders entering the Interstate northbound after leaving a popular set of shops that sell Czech pastries in West, Texas.

The officer will sit in the parking lot of Lake Shore Village Rest home in an ummarked vehicle as you pass up Educators Credit Union. He pulls over a TON of people because EVERYONE speeds on Lake Shore as you get down the hill.

Cops love this spot because it’s the only spot near Baylor that drops 10 MPH. If they can’t get you for speeding, they’ll try to fill their quota some other way. The BPD has pulled friends, and myself, over near this spot for speeding 5 over, expired registrations, rolling/California stops, and even bad taillights.

THEY WILL TICKET YOU FOR ANYTHING THEY CAN TO MAKE REVENUE. NO WARNINGS ARE GIVEN. AVOID IF POSSIBLE.

City cop sits along side streets and once in a residence drive way. 30mph. I received a ticket for $200.00 for going 42mph. With no prior tickets!! He is always there or on Lakeshore. He alternates. I have seen him in an unmarked car, also.
