Watauga, Texas Speed Traps

School Zones have motorcycles in the niddle of the road catching both directions of traffic on Watauga Rd. They sit off Chapman and Hwy.377 to catch traffic headded for Keller on Hwy.377.

Just after Capp Smith park behind the shopping center the patrol carfs like to sit there. It’s still a school zone after the stop sign. On the other side of the intersection down Starnes past another stop sign is a park zone. The Watauga PD LOVES to get people in the park and school zones.

Between 377 to the West and Rufe Snow to the East…heavily enforced…especially by the Mrs Baird store/warehouse; usually a car on the North side and a motorcycle on the South side of the street.

Police cruisers stop or drive slowly in the turn lane in this busy retail area where many cars are trying to turn into and out of businesses. They create a hazard and are trying to pinpoint speeders (45 mph zone)going either direction on this six lane thouroughfare.

Southbound motorists in a 50mph zone are reduced to 45, and the sign is easy to miss. Those travelling at 5mph over the posted speed are instantly 10mph over and cops hide in business parking lots.
