Draper, Utah Speed Traps
Mike Weir Drive near South Mountain Golf Course
Heading North bound on Mike Weir Drive, after passing the golf course, you enter a slight left turn and ascend down a hill. The speed limit has recently been decreased to 30 mph from 35 mph. The speed trap is facing you unseen at first, 200 ft ahead on the left side of the road.
State Highway Banderter near East of I-15 and Highland Drive
Stationary speed traps at bottom of hill in both directions. Draper police hide in new construction area on North side of highway.
A little ways past the first stop light as you get on to Bangerter highway from I-15 (going NW)
Cop sits perpendicular to the road, and waits, just far enough down and around the second hilly bend that you can’t see him (it’s the same guy every time-ESPECIALLY around the end of the month when they have to meet their quota). Go slowly (55-59 MPH) when pulling away from that light until you are past that first underpass. He’ll pull you over for going anymore than 10 over. It’s a highway for heaven’s sake! Why is the speed limit 50??? I was going 73, but he only gave me a ticket for going 65…maybe because I’m a girl??
