Bowling Green, Virginia Speed Traps
US-301 South & North
Cops hide in the trees in the medians. Especially after curves in the road where it is too late to slow down once you see them. At night they sit in the medians with their lights off.
On Route 301 North just before the George County line
As you leave the town going north on route 301 the speed drops from 45 mph to 35 mph then rises to 55 at the County line. They will stop you as you accelerate to 55 unless you have passed the speed limit and county sign
Rte 207/301
There are a lot of trees and hidden in the brush is an officer.
I 95N, mile post 111.5
70mph posted speed. State Trooper tickets any 81+mph for reckless driving by speed. This carries the same penalties as DUI and drag racing.
South Bound Route 2
Immediately after Town Limits sign, and just past route 605 the Town of Bowling Green reduces the South bound speed from 45 MPH to 25 MPH even though the North Bound side is still a posted 45 MPH for the roughly 1/4 mile to the traffic light. If you have not reduced your speed from the posted 45 MPH to the Town Speed limit of 25MPH by the time you reach the sign you will be ticketed. Just because you are reducing your speed but have not reached the 25 MPH limit is not good enough.
