Anywhere all the way to the city limits East going toward Hillsville. The Galax police like to sit about a mile up from the city limit sign and speed change coming from Independence, Speed limit changes from 60mph to 45mph. They usually sit at the intersection before the caution lights at West Galax . They also sit at the bottom of the hill coming into Galax before Main Street, the speed limit changes at the top of the hill to 35mph so to maintain the speed you must ride your brakes. Next speed trap is between the Wilco/Speedway and Roses shopping center. Cop will sit in the parking lot with radar and clock cars coming from town going East toward Hillsville. And Anywhere from the top of the hill above Roses past Country Club Lane to the new Lowes Hardware, the speed limit was dropped a few years back from 45mph to 35mph, Town says it was for safety but it has turned into a revenue generating machine for Galax.

Police sets back in grass waiting on you to come by. They busted me for 5mph over. Glendale is heavily patrolled. They are thick and working their quota.
