Groseclose, Virginia Speed Traps

At any given time of the day, you can find 2 Smyth County deputies hidden off the exit ramp waiting for speeders. You can only see these patrol cars in your rearview mirror after passing the exit which at that point is too late. If you pass and they are not there you can just about guarantee they will have people pulled over by the Atkins exit 50. If I don’t see them I just go ahead and get into the fast lane since I know I will have to merge over there soon to avoid them and the states new reckless driving law for not moving over.

One to two county sheriffs sit on the left side of the road towards the end of the southbound entrance ramp at Groseclose VA I-81. The view of them from southbound traffic is blocked by a small hill until you are at least 100 feet past them. They are there most times of the day.
