Henrico, Virginia Speed Traps
Cedar Fork Rd/ between 9 Mile & Creighton Rds
Police is sitting in Eastgate Baptist Church Parking Lot with Radar detection for oncoming vehicles from both sides at least 2-3 times a week/morning/evening…mostly mornings. Also be mindful of the School Buses and speed limit now that school is back in.
Lauderdale Dr and Old Compton Rd
Police car sitting in dark on east bound side after a rise. Speed limit on Lauderdale is 35 and very easy to "speed". Watch our for Lauderdale in general – several friends report being ticketed there.
Guyana at Benjamin, the cross road between Cox and Church
An officer routinely sits in wait for one of us to go over the speed limit for all of 1/10 of a second. This is a very short street between Cox and Church. The speed limit on Cox is 35 and is clearly marked, the speed limit on Church is 45 and is also clearly marked. However in order to go from Cox to Church you need to go on a road that is about 1/4 mile long. When you make a left from Cox onto Guyana there is an incline and the road turns to the right. At that point when you are looking for oncoming traffic there is a small sign that says 25. It can be seen if you don’t have to look for on coming traffic and at this point you also have to accelerate in order to get up the incline. Once you are up the small hill there is a stop sign at Church that is not at all visible because it is completely hidden by a tree. The officer sits in wait on one of the side streets most mornings giving out tickets to those of us who may not have seen the small sign and may have gone over the speed limit for a fraction of a second. I am appalled that my tax dollars go to pay for this. There has to be some real criminals out there that he can go after, or perhaps if he really wanted to help, he could have requested the sign be located at a spot where the road is straight and flat, and the same size as other signs in the area. I view this as a way to increase revenue for the county and for this officer to receive accolades from his superiors, not to slow down anyone’s speed.
Between Lauderdale and Pump on Three Chopt Road
Unmarked cars waiting in side apartment entrances in plain view. They look like normal cars waiting to make a turn. Speed limit is 35 and people routinely drive over 45 and get caught.
West Broad Street
Heavy presence market and unmarked cruisers along West Broad Street in Richmond. Ticketing as low as 2 miles over speed limit. Careful, some will tailgate you to get you to speed up.
