Herndon, Virginia Speed Traps
Ramp from Monroe parking to Tollroad going West
The cop sits on the ramp which comes down from the Herndon Monroe Park and Ride parking. Has a nice view on cars going on the tollroad (267) West. The cop car cannot be seen since it is on the ramp that comes down from the overpass. Coordinates are: 38.953302,-77.386086 Google maps link: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=38.953302,-77.386086&z=16
Herndon Parkway – East of Elden, West of Van Buren
This is an afternoon speed trap for cars going west bound on Herndon Pkwy between Van Buren St. & Elden St. The police are normally on the corner of Palmer Dr. scoping traffic heading towards Elden St.
On MacLearen Drive as you are headed towards Rt 28
Cop with a portable radar gun steps off median across from the Self Storage facility, aims the gun at your car as you are coming down a hill, then with his body out in the middle of the street he waves you over.
Elden St & Monroe St
Herndon is way too congested with cops that don’t have much to do.
A Herndon cop got me on Elden St heading from Ferndale Ave towards Monroe St. The speed limit is 25 and the cop was hiding behind a construction dumpster.
The court helped. The judge is nice, plead not guilty and just come up with some excuse for why you were speeding and you might cut your ticket in half.
Monroe St & Sunrise Valley Dr
You can see cops on Monroe St. between E. Park Dr. and Sunrise Valley Dr. You have to be very careful if you are driving South in a morning.
