Herndon, Virginia Speed Traps
Spring Street near Herndon Parkway
When Sunset Hills Roads becomes Spring St. and the speed limit becomes 35mph while the road width does not change or anything. They always enforce it. I got stopped at 6:30am.
Centreville Road near Church
The cop will either sit in the turn lane by Spring Lake Estates facing the gas stations/food lion/burger king etc… or the cop will sit in the church parking lot facing the same way.
Worldgate Drive near Elden Street
If you travel on Worldgate drive from monroe street towards elden… watch out for the cops when you turn into worldgate… they wait out behind the office buildings and are totally invisible till you come really close when they come out to pull you over. I work on the building they hide behind and see atleast 5 drivers getting caught. The speed limit is 30 Mph.. but generally there is no traffic on the road.
Dulles Toll Road one mi before Herndon/Chantilly exit
State trooper sets up radar on shoulder of the road, hidden by the overpass wall just prior to the Herndon/Chantilly exit.
267E (Toll Road)
This is one officer who paid attention in art class! Motorcycle cop, sitting in the SHADOW of the bridge abuttment, contorting his body to the shape of his motorcycle, running radar. If it wasn’t for the yellow lenses of my sunglasses, I would’ve never seen him. Be cautious near ANY bridge abuttment on 267 in any direction!
