Loudoun, Virginia Speed Traps
Loudoun County Pkwy at Redskin Park
LCPkwy speed limit drops from 45 to 25 from W&OD to Glouster Pkwy. Deputies will run radar from the entrance to Redskin Park.
route 9 200 yards west of rt 287 intersection
on the north side of Rt 9 there is a gravelled turnout. Police typically stop in this turnout, and back up the hill facing west; westbound traffic cannot see the patrol car until past the car (too late!) and eastbound traffic is nailed as soon as they crest the hill to the west of this location. Speed in this area is posted at 40 mph down from 50 east and west. Not typically manned during morning or evening rush hours, but nights and days there is often a patrol car parked there.
State Highway Rt. 7 near State Route Rt. 9
Heading West bound toward Winchester on Va. 7 passed the Rt. 9 exit. There is a raised median right pasted the Ivandale Rd. overpass slow down. They sit there shooting radar all the time. Shooting the west and east bound lanes.. It’s a straight away and most everybody does 70! Travel in packs and they won’t get ya. By yourself you’ll see blue and red!
Algonkian Parkway near Sky Lane
Brown unmarked car that blends very well with surroundings.
Loudoun County Parkway near Dulles Greenway Expressway
After exiting the Dulles Greenway heading northbound on the Loudoun County Parkway, approaching Verizon complex on left, and Waxpool Rd. ahead; this is a favorite haunt for police. Loudoun County Parkway all the way from Belmont Ridge to Waxpool is grieviously underposted. It could easily support 55 mph or higher (4 lanes, median strip) but is 40 or 45 mph. Be careful on this Parkway, it’s a police state.
