Salem, Virginia Speed Traps

From the beginning of this road to the end of this road, the police set up radar because so many people use it as a short cut to avoid the crowded West Main St. in Salem. Lots of bikers use this route, also. The police even set up radar at night and lots of times on Sunday. There are several curves for police cars to hide; many times they just back into the driveways of homes located on the straight stretches.

This is a very steep bridge with a 25 MPH speed limit, when coming down the bridge, there is a daycare enterance where cops sit and watch for people driving down the bridge and do not give any slack to speeders because of the daycare so BE CAREFUL driving across the bridge!

They are sitting all over the road. Pay special consideration to the areas b/w Salem and Blacksburg…i cant describe all the places they sit because it changes daily…if you are military and just visitin family, be prepared to come back to the place and sit through an 8 hour, $75 class even if you do not live there anymore…or you can always surrender your license!
