West Point, Virginia Speed Traps
On Highway 33 at the east end of the Mattaponi Bridge.
Local law enforcement likes to set up in the driveway of the marine supply/boat sales business at the east end of the Mattaponi Bridge on Highway 33 (37°32’05.1″N 76°46’47.6″W). This gives them excellent line of sight to the crest of the bridge while also hiding their car so well among the boats that you will never spot them until it is too late. The officers here are very strict, so do not expect to receive a warning. Bottom line: do not speed while traversing the Mattaponi Bridge.
Route 33 between West Point and I-64
It’s constantly patrolled by New Kent Co deputies and they have little tolerance. I got pulled for doing 62 in a 55.
It’s close to NK Courthouse so they don’t have to work hard to get the revenue.
State Route 30 & State Route 33
These roads between I-64 and Saluda are heavily patrolled. They are lightly travelled country roads. Both State and county cops patrol them. That segment traverses five counties.
