Woodbridge, Virginia Speed Traps
Telegraph road just north of the Commuter Parking lot
There is a group of motorcycle police who lie in wait at the entrance of the auto junk yard on the right as you are traveling southbound. The officers are fairly polite.
Route 1 north entering Fairfax county
Speed limit drops to 35 mph as you cross the bridge entering Fairfax county. Fairfax county police wait on the north side of the bridge with radar usually hiding behind a sign. There is no residential zone only a ramp to I95 . They primarily target Prince William county residents because we have no recourse. Its approximately 3/4 a mile from the start of the bridge to the ramp its is a four lane highway and I can’t ever recall an accident. thanks again for everythingything to suggest the need for such doggedly enforcement.
Exit at Potomac Mills has a do not turn on red sign. waitin.
Potomac Center Blvd. has a do not turn on red sign with a motorcycle cop waiting nearby.
Old Bridge Road
The entire Old Bridge Road (from Gordan Blvd to PW Parkway) is a trap. The most know area is by Woodbridge Senior High School where at night, they will sit in the parking lot, located off road in the dark. You’ll never seem them until they pull you over. There there is an area close to the Bank of America where the speed limit drops from 45mph to 35mph coming over a slight hill. The Lidar picks up a range from 1 mile, so once you’re over that hill it’s to late to break. Then there is the Woodbridge Senior High School-School Zone where they straight set-up a donut shop to clock you. If you were new to the area and drove out of certain complex you wouldn’t it was a school zone.
The entire Woodbridge/Lakeridge area
Has anyone noticed that the entire Woodbridge/Lakeridge community has become one giant speed trap over the last year? For instance, on any given day there are a total of 3, yes I said 3, speed traps on Smoketown between Minnieville and Old Bridge. Now in the last 2 weeks, the cops have been out several times, in the dark no less, with their radar gun at 5:45 in the morning on Beaver Pond Road which is a small road that cuts through my townhouse community. Now that’s ridiculous! Is PWC out of money and this is their way of raising it??
