Chewelah, Washington Speed Traps

A cop car will sometimes sit between the DOT sand piles to catch people coming and going. Also, two of them might sit head-to-tail at the tanning/car sales lot to catch speeders as they slow down coming around the corner into town, or to catch those who speed up before getting completely out of town. Southbound, the speed drops from 65mph to 45 at the bottom of the hill, then just past Norski’s it drops to 25mph. If you are not going 25 or under, you will get a visit from one of Chewelah’s finest! The reverse is true, and if you try to speed up before getting completely past the 45mph sign on your way out of town, you will most likely be pulled over.
