Between mile marker 43 and 44, State Highway 4
This is an odd place for a speed trap, yet I’ve seen a Washington State Patrol car there both times I’ve driven this way the past 2 years, approximately the same time of day (4-5 p.m.)! From the west, one’s going up the hill and just after one comes around a curve, the cop is parked on the right; going east, one’s going around a curve and just over a rise: it would seem the WSP is there for those folks. I’ve never seen anyone pulled over, so it could be just their favorite place for a coffee break, but I’d imagine any modest speeder would pique the cop’s interest.
