Lake Forest Park, Washington Speed Traps
35th Avenue N.E. near Ballinger Way
Traffic camera for “school” when there are never any children around! Hours are posted for the camera during weekdays.
55th Ave NE, 19500 – 20000 blocks
Lake Forest Park motorcycle hides waiting for speeders. Little mercy.
Ballinger Way
I have seen a few motorcycle cops pull over people on Ballinger Way near (west of) Lake Forest Park Town Center.
In their only two school zones
Officers park around curves and issue speed citations as you come around the corner and pass the school zone sign. You WERE doing below the speed limit, but now you’re in a school zone.
BAM! Double fine, can’t reduce the ticket, and the local judge will throw the book at you if you come to court.
178th Street, between 35th Ave NE and 36th Ave NE
This is a school zone at the bottom of a very steep hill – 24th Avenue becomes 178th Street as you go east down the hill. It’s monitored by cameras, which will take a picture of your license plate and send you a ticket by mail if you break the speed limit of 20 MPH during school hours, and 25 MPH outside of school hours.
