Moses Lake, Washington Speed Traps
I-90 Exit 179
Washington State Patrol seen several times from North Frontage Rd. Located just east of the exit in the center of the freeway. 47.0984 -119.2384
W. Broadway Ave/WA-171 across from Larson Field
Across from Larson Baseball field, there is this one area off W Broadway Avenue, that looks like a small parking lot or turn around area of some sort (2500 W. Broadway Ave). I was heading on southbound (toward I-90), and there was a Moses Lake PD vehicle at this turn off. There are trees that line the western edge of Broadway from Burress Ave to Interlake Rd, and that partially blocked the view of this vehicle. WA-171 traffic should be aware of any possible speed traps here, especially for those of you heading towards I-90.
Potato Hill Road and Baseline Road
There is a fire station on the corner of Potato Hill Rd. and Baseline Rd, where I saw a State Patrol vehicle sitting behind the fire station waiting for speeders on Potato Hill Road (45 mph Speed Limit) yesterday evening; in fact I saw it on my way to and from a party I was attending. About two months ago, I saw a Sheriff patrol vehicle sitting right in front of the fire station.
I-90 & Hiawatha Exit
The Speed trap is usually for those traveling East bound toward Moses Lake. As your coming down the hill over looking all of Moses Lake, the Hiawatha Exit is at the bottom of the hill and as you come out of the hill and pass the exit, An officer hide on the On ramp radaring people. There is a U turn shortly after the onramp where he will radar from the west bound side of I 90 and then use the U turn to catch you since there is usually a barrier most of the way.
Dodson Road and I-90
An officer will occasionally set up his speed trap on the on ramps goin East Bound or West bound. I frequently see them turning onto Dodson road going into Ephrata, which is Grant County’s main office. Beware they will appear out of no where at times here.
