Olalla, Washington Speed Traps
SE Mullenix Rd – West of Hwy 16
There’s a small (~300 Ft) stretch of Mullenix that goes from 35, under the freeway, to 25 MPH, before the stop sign at Burley. There is a warning sign about 50 Ft before the 25 MPH sign. Cops hang out in the driveway on the south side, just cresting the small hill, headed West.
Olalla Valley Road SE @ Triangle Park
Olalla Valley Road SE @ SE Burley Olalla Road. School zone 20 mph reduced speed.
Law enforcement lay low in unmarked cars on the north side of “Triangle Park” and just east of Olalla Foods.
This speed zone does not improve safety but is a big money maker for law enforcement. The fines were recently doubled and it’s most often parents with their own children in the car being ticketed and paying the hefty $350.00 penalty.
Virtually all children are either bussed or driven by parents to this school. If a child were to walk to school, they would not be on this portion of Olalla Valley Road because it does not lead to the school from either direction.
They would take Wallace from the west or SE Burley Olalla Road from the east.
Peacock Hill Rd SE south of Nelson Rd
in good weather . . . MC officer sits on east side of Peacock at Pine Lake Rd. with handheld pulse radar. Seen him several times.
