Port Orchard, Washington Speed Traps
State Highway 16 near Mullenix Road
Right after Mullenix, there is an officer on the overpass. After the overpass, there are at least four state patrol vehicles with vehicles pulled over. They are gesturing other cars to pull them over as well.

Pottery Road near Tremont Road
Speed trap set up for school crosswalks. The only thing is that there’s no school in sight. The school is down the road and behind some trees. The crosswalk is one that is rarely if ever used by school children since there’s a closer one. They just wave you over. People who ignore them, they don’t bother going after since they generate more revenue from the law-abiding citizens who pull over. Speed limit is 30 except it’s 20 because of the crosswalk. It begins just over the crest of the hill, so you don’t really notice it until it’s too late.
This one is really shameful.
State Highway 16 near Sedgewick Avenue
Speed trap is set up just before the Sedgewick exit; the speed is 50 a short while back (through Olalla) then changes to 60. It changes back to 50 as you leave Port Orchard. Ticket was issued for 65mph in a 60mph zone when everyone else was passing me.
US Highway 16 near Bethel/Bethel Burley Overpass
I usually see an unmarked police cruiser parked after the on-ramp. The officer sits on the edge of the overpass and clocks the drivers on highway 16. I only see them in the daytime once every two weeks or so.
Pottery Avenue near Just S. of Cedar Heights Junior High In a trail going into the woods/or the P.O. Care center drvway
Speed Limit is normally 30 although it is a school zone. But when I see them it is usually around 6:00 a.m. and there are no kids there. They also sit there when school is out in the summer…I think to throw the drivers off. Both places you usually won’t see them until it is to late the Port Orchard Cops like to hide and they like to give tickets with little room for leniency.
