Eagle, Wisconsin Speed Traps
Hwy 59, at village of Eagle limits, driving from Palmyra
There is no gradual speed reduction, as there is on many state highways. The speed drops from 55 to 30 (maybe 25) right at the village limits, with the officer parked right by the village limit and with a curve in the road, and rolling topography just before. Most state highways have a gradual speed reduction, but not in this spot or going in this direction. There are gradual reductions from other directions going into Eagle.
Highway 59 West entering Eagle
Still used mostly by Waukesha County. Speed limit drops 55/45/30 pretty quickly. Cruiser / unmarked sits partially obstructed behind "Eagle – We Give You a Smile" sign. Sometimes also sit in plain sight on Eastbound side, and be aware the county runs mobile radar as well, so if you see the police rolling, they may have you as well.
Woodfield Ct & S Sherman St
Approaching the Village of Eagle from the South, the speed limit drops abruptly from 45 to 25, with no reduced speed ahead" sign prior. Letting your foot off the accelerator does not slow you enough before the officer clocks you at 15 mph over. They will convey their good will by ticketing you at 10 over. This has happened to me and several neighbors with otherwise excellent driving records. I will not even touch on the court’s incompetence (losing my payment record and threatening to suspend my license)… "
Main Street near Markham Road
Cop sits in the lot by the Village Hall. Not sure if heor she (can’t tell) is sleeping or running radar, but they patrol the lot there all the time. Pass this location very cautiously, because he/she might not just be polling out to go to lunch.
US Highway 59 East
Traveling east bound on HWY 59 towards Palmyra and Whitewater, an officer sits on the left side of the road on a small hill just after the church. This is just after the Hwy 67/Hwy 59 intersection. The speed limit is 30 mph here and turns into 55 mph half a mile past where he sits.
