Racine, Wisconsin Speed Traps
On I 94 northbound in all of Racine County.
I travel this route quite often and have noticed that there is continuous police presence and giving of speeding tickets on I 94 northbound north of Apple Hollar to just before that great big bend in the road to the northwest. Guarenteed traffic ticket.
Green Bay Rd. and South Drive
The speed zone is 35 miles an hour and then jumps to 55 miles an hour.
Coming into the city of Racine Wisconsin the speed zone goes from 55 to 35 without any warning. The cops wait for someone who can not reduce their speed fast enough and then give them a ticket for going over 35 miles an hour. When leaving the city the police give you a ticket if you go over 35 before you reach the 55 mile an hour sign. But by waiting until you reach the 55 mile an hour sign you are going to slow for the 55 mile an hour zone and are subject to a ticket.
I94 hwy G Southbound
I94 South bound around Hwy G – Racine County Sheriff sit on west hand side of I94 and shoot passing cars with radar. (marked patrol cars) Will ticket for ten over. Very big business late afternoon and around rush hour traffic times. Also very popular spot at month end!
1 mile west of I-94 on Route 20
LEO sits in Evans Park, just west of Co. C intersection, north side of route 20, speed limit is 45 mph, also likes to sit about one-half mile west, on north side of 20 where the four lanes narrow to two. The speed limit changes just beyond where LEO sits and they often catch people speeding up to 55+ before they actually enter the zone.
I94/43 N bound at HWY G
Cop sits under the HWY G bridge obscured by a road construction sign, he, also, sits at the top of the on-ramp from Hwy G onto I-94, just past the bridge. I see him there often.
