Ripon, Wisconsin Speed Traps
West Oshkosh St, and Pearl St
When traveling west on West Oshkosh St, you just crest a hill, and are going downhill, and they sit hidden on Pearl St or across the road in the Funeral Home’s back driveway. No explanation will get you out of a ticket.
State Highway 44 (E. Oshkosh St.), near Stanton St.
Overly low speed limit; obscured speed-limit sign; just over set of raised railroad tracks; sign and police car not visible until until in target area for instant-on radar; no discussions – you just get the ticket; post "bail" (amount of fine) at police headquarters — which has only two parking spaces in front…one for police car and one for victim. Trap set up so as to prey upon people/tourists headed out of town toward Oshkosh. Virtually identical road on the other side of town has a speed limit 10 mph higher.
Wisconsin 23 and Wisconsin 44 coming into City of Ripon from east
City of Ripon has the white squad cars; the Town of Ripon has a silver-blue car, with a cop with apparently nothing better to do but pull over speeders.
