Superior, Wisconsin Speed Traps
Catlin Ave. between Belknap St. and N. 21st St.
What used to be (UWS) “Campus Security” is now “Campus Police” and it shows. The speed limit on that stretch of Catlin (through the UWS campus) is now 15 mph—and they will write you a ticket in excess of $200.00 if you’re not observant of that fact. The day I got mine the officer’s printer wasn’t working. I was supposed to receive the citation in the mail but it never came. I had to go to the UWS Campus Police office later to ask for a copy of the citation so I could pay the fine and be done with it.
Co Rd E and Hwy 53 across from FabCo
State police sit back by E 3rd Street so you can’t see them until it’s too late. The speed limit there is 45. It doesn’t go to 65 until the rest area
28th Street by the United Presbyterian Church/Mariner Mall
The speed limit goes from 25 mph to 35 mph and vise versa depending on your direction of travel. The curve in the road is where the speed zone changes. The cops will hide in the church or mall parking lots and nail people at or near the curve. People have been picked up going 2-3 mph over the speed limit. The "catch" is where does the 25 mph zone start and where does it end. It zone changes depending on the cop.
Between 4th & 7th on Tower Avenue
State boy hides in front of Simko Supply across the street. Speed limit is 25 mph.

Nemadji river bridge (valley), state trooper (all the locals know his name) likes to sit on the shoulder with parking lights(at best)and pop you when you top the hill in both directions. The other posting about Superior fairgrounds is another of his favorites.
