West Bend, Wisconsin Speed Traps
South River Road (CTH G) near Sand Drive
35 MPH rural highway at the bottom of two hills near the high school. Used to be 45 MPH. Squad cars will sit on Sand Drive (from either way, but more often facing west) and nab speeders going both ways. Nearly impossible to see if one is nearby if you’re going north (up the big hill)
East Decorah Rd from the high school to Indiana Ave/Sand Dr
25 MPH on a big residential road. City cops will often sit on either Weinert Street or Eastern Avenue running radar on cars coming down the hills to the north and south.
N 18th Ave. Between Park Ave. and Jefferson St.
This stretch of !8th Ave. has very few homes on it and a marsh on the west side. Cops like to sit on the east side of the street (facing south) and nab people heading north. It is a little tough to see them because of a slight bend in the road – they can see you though. The limit is 25 and should be 35 or 40. I believe it is only 25 mostly because of the elementary school up the hill to the east. (Greentree)
S. 18th Ave at Columbia Place
The roadway has a small hill for northbound traffic. Quite easy to naturally accelerate down this road which is a 25mph zone. Squad car frequently sit here to run radar.
Town of Myra on Decorah Road West of County Hwy. M
As you are going East on Decorah Road it is posted at 45mph. When you come up to Myra, the speed reduces to 30mph and an officer likes to sit on the shoulder of the road facing West as you come up the hill.
