Ranchester, Wyoming Speed Traps
US Highway 14 near Buckhorn Grocery
The Ranchester police officer most often sits on the side of the road in front of Tongue River Middle School (where the speed limit changes from 40mph to 20mph). This section is patrolled constantly during daylight hours, with out-of-state tourists the primary victims.
State Highway 14 near Exit Number 9
The officer parks at top of bridge with his lights out, in dark ours. Going up the bridge, N, we normally begin to accelerate from 30 to 45. He nabs you before you reach the 45 mph sign. He will make a U turn in middle of bridge to catch you. We are locals and drive with care through town. Now we need to creep up the hill to the 45 mph sign.

U.S. 14
Heading west out of town, there is a short stretch of roadway that’s posted 35 mph (speed limit prior to that is 25 mph), before the speed limit becomes 55 mph. The city cops sit there on the north side of the road and get folks as they accelerate into the 55 mph zone.
