Torrington, Wyoming Speed Traps

This is so similar to Jan 3 2012 review…i had my cruise control set at 65, my gps showed my speed between 65 to 66, my speedometer showed 66. I was stopped by a highway patrol trooper and was giving a ticket for going 78 in a 65 mph area. A total lie! This is a speed trap, just a money maker for out state drivers like me.

Local LEO has been operating here for many years, ticketing out-of-state cars going above city limit, even while Wyoming cars pass by faster. Well-known among many people from Colorado going to and from the Black Hills area. Many now avoid Torrington altogether and take I-25 to Orin then over through Lusk.

Traffic law enforcement is aggressive for out of state cars and anyone who exceeds the speed limit by 5 mph. Both sides of Torrington, Wyoming by 15 miles.

Very aggressive enforcement of speed limits from Hawk Springs on US Hwy 85 to and through Torrington and west from Torrington Wyoming to a point north of Lingle Wyoming and west of Lingle on State Hwy 26. They don’t issue warnings! No warning signs of "Reduced Speed Ahead"
