Los Angeles, California Speed Traps
118 County line/Rocky Peak road /CHP Officer at the brigde
As soon you get off the San Fernando Valley going West to East geting close to the County Line into Simi Valley CHP officer with Radar device at the bridge.
(No enough time to correct your speed after your coming from uphill).
Cypress at Macon
Cop hides behind a parked car and traps motorists with a radar gun.
Forest Lawn Drive between 134 Freeway and Barham Blvd.
LAPD (this area is not within Burbank city limits) routinely sets up radar traps along Forest Lawn Drive with motorcycle officers at one or two of these places: Service/groundskeeping staff entrance driveway to Mt. Sinai cemetery (just west of the cemetery entrance); under the pine trees on the north side of Forest Lawn Drive, between Mt. Sinai and Forest Lawn cemetery entrances; or on the dirt turnout on the south side of Forest Lawn Drive, at the very western edge of the Forest Lawn property. The motorcycle officers usually work in teams of two or three along this stretch. The "rural" aspect of the road and lack of congestion is tempting to lead-footers — speed limit on Forest Lawn Drive is 45 mph but it is not unusual to encounter motorists doing 65+ along the stretch. No real schedule as to when they will be there, but I’ve driven this route M-F for years and they are usually there 2-3 times a month.
Sepulveda just north of LAX tunnel
M/C perches just outside end of northbound tunnel on Sepulveda at LAX. People tend to come fast out of tunnel, especially if they do not have to stop at light at Sepulveda Westbound exit off the 105 Freeway.
s. san vicente just south(or east) of s. genesee ave
was driving north on san vicente, and there was a bike cop with laser radar right at the midway hospital entrance/exit, just south of genesee ave. 35 mile/hour speed limit seems a little suspicious for a 3 lane road.
