Mission Viejo, California Speed Traps
Alicia Parkway near Rancho Santa Margarita Parkway
A motor cycle police officer sits on the right side waiting for cars driving onto Alicia Pkwy from Rancho Santa Margarita Pkwy.
Felipe/Olympiad Street near Jeronimo Road
Heading Down the hill towards Jeronimo away from La Paz which I believe is in the NW direction, right across the Olympiad X Jeronimo intersection on the left hand side of the road there sits a motorcycle, in the shade of the trees, catching speeders coming down the hill.
Marguerite Parkway near Felipe
I’ve seen motorcycle cops in three different locations on Marguerite Parkway between Oso and Crown Valley . Heading south they are typically at the crest of the hill before you descend down to Crown Valley or in the driveway of the office park just before you reach Crown Valley. Heading north the cop usually sits on Claro just before you reach Oso. Speed limit is a ridiculously low 40 MPH and I have seen the cops pulling people over all day long. BE CAREFUL!
Via Linda Street near Madero Road
Motorcycle officer on sidewalk at various points between Madero Rd. and Alicia Parkway (usually on the downhill side due to more shade trees (less visibility for them) and greater speeds of downhill traffic. Posted speed limit is 30, it’s hard not to exceed that on the downhill without riding your brakes 😛 Also, police vehicles may hide in the park ‘n’ ride on the uphill side of Via Linda during PM rush.
LaPaz Road near Mosquero Drive
The MV Motorcycle cops like to sit on the curb on the West Bound LaPaz lanes catching you on the downhill run to Mosquero. They love the 6:30AM time where the posted speed is 40 and natural flow is always above 50 in the early morning.
