Pleasanton, California Speed Traps
Bernal Avenue near Kottinger Road
A motorcycle cop sits at the top of the smaller hill between Palomino and Kottinger. He sits back out of view on the sidewalk that crosses the street and when you see him, it’s too late. Speed limit goes from 35 to 30 where most people are going 40 – 45 anyway. Lookout!
Hopyard Street near Owens Street
Cop hides in the parking lot of the CHEVRON Gas Station often to watch people run yellow lights or not stop fully at the intersection before turning.
Stanley/First Street near Coles Market
When travelling down Stanley into Pleasanton, upon passing Coles Market in the A.M, slow to the posted speed limit all the way from here to the 680 freeway. There are several speed traps in this cooridor.
Santa Rita Street near Mohr Avenue
There is ususally a motorcycle cop sitting in the Dental Office Parking lot at the cross of Santa Rita and Mohr Ave. I’ve been ticked there twice for speeding, and once for not using my turn signal. The Speed on Mohr is 25mph, bc it’s by an elderly home, and is entering in residential. The Santa Rita speed limit transitions from 45mph down to 35mph (headed towards downtown). They’ll get you for a yellow-red, and for speeding.
Hopyard Road near Valley Avenue
South on Hopyard Road, the Motorcycle cop ususally sits on Hansen Street (next street after Valley Avenue and before Black Avenue). Speed limit changes here.
