Boulder, Colorado Speed Traps
9th Street near Mapleton Avenue
Right after Mapleton st going north on 9th st. there is usually a photo radar van right after 9th flattens out. I think the speed limit is 20mph which is very easy to forget.
9 th Street near College Street
Photo radar van parks at multiple locations along the street checking traffic speed both up and down hill. With the engine in neutral one can easily be 10-15 over if you don’t touch the breaks
State Highway 119 near US Highway 52
Cops tend to sit just before the light at Highway 52 goiog north bound on Hwy 119 BUT I have been caught twice by airplane on this road. They generally radar (by airplane) around 63rd St or around Hwy 52 and then pull you over around Niwot Rd. Here’s the trick, the thick white lines on the side of the highway that run perpendicular to the white line that marks the lane is what they use to radar you. They base your speed on how fast you drive past these lines. Be ware! They’re very tricky! Hope this helps!
Lookout Road near Idylwild Trail
A frequent location for various types of speed measurement, radar, laser and photo radar. Usually mid to late morning. Often on Saturdays. Speed limit is 35 but traffic usually flows at 40 to 45.
