Boulder, Colorado Speed Traps
Greenbriar Avenue near Chambers Drive
Photo van intermittently at the bottom of the hill below the track. The limit is 25 due to proximity of residences and Fairview H.S., & is very easy to bust through NE bound because of how steep the hill is. I’ve gotten hit by this twice. I’ve now finally trained myself to downshift my automatic into 2nd gear when descending this hill; even when idling otherwise you end up 5-10 over the limit.
US Highway 119
Once in a while, police will set up on the bridge coming into south Longmont on the new Hwy 119/Ken Pratt extension road. It’s 55mph in there, whereas Hwy 119 out east is 65mph.
Folsom Avenue near Iris Street
Between Glenwood Street and Iris avenue on Folsom Street. Gray unmarked photo radar van sits under shade trees undetectable and takes photo after photo very frequently. Very Sneaky Spot
9th Street near Maxwell Street
There is a Photo Radar Van that parks on the east side of 9th Street trying to catch speeders Heading North on 9th street following the intersection of 9th & Maxwell. The speed limit is ridiculously low and is a common hassle….beware!
Moorhead Avenue near 27th Way
Either a Photo van or a cop car will be parked, usually on the west side of the road on Moorhead between Table Mesa and 27th Way. Closer to 27th Way. I think the posted speed is only 25mph-although it seems like it would be 30mph. So if you are going 35+mph you are likely to get a ticket.
