Centennial, Colorado Speed Traps
East Dry Creek Road Between University and Colorado
An Officer will park behind the Albertsons building with his lights off (he blends in day or night but especially at night) and waits for west bound traffic. Just coasting down that hill will put you over the speed limit in no time. State Patrol and County Mounties both like this one.
E. Caley Ave. & S. Colorado Blvd. just north of Issac Newton School
Cop sits in the alley by telephone equipment, just after making the turn onto Caley Ave. off of Colorado Blvd. He/she is able to monitor speeds going north, south on Colorado as well as on Caley. Also have seen unmarked car issuing tickets. Be especially aware when driving east/west on Caley and when school flashing lights are on. Seems to be there in mid afternoon when Newton gets out of school till after rush hour. Speeds around Newton are 20 mph on Arapahoe and Newton while lights are flashing.
County Line Road Between S. University Blvd. and S. Colorado Blvd.
Police sit in the Autumn Chase apartment complex driveway and monitor speeds of cars going in both directions on County Line Road. Currrent speed limit is 45 mph.
S. Yosemite Street near Dry Creek Street
Going North on Yosemite from County Line police are actively stopping drivers exceeding the speed limit. As you come down the hill (near Mineral) the police sit at the base of the hill on the east side hiding behind the road divider.
University Boulevard near Dry Creek Road
By Arapahoe High School, students and others regularly get tickets during the times of day when the lights are flashing to slow for the school zone and they really watch for cars who don’t come to a complete stop at signs.
