Centennial, Colorado Speed Traps
Liverpool Road near Smoky Hill Road
Liverpool Road from Smoky Hill at the top to Arapahoe Road at the bottom is one long hill with no stoplights, and there are three intersections on the west side going into the Greenfield residential neighborhood. Marked and unmarked units from Arapahoe County/Centennial can be frequently found in any of those intersections, pretending to be a car waiting to make a turn onto Liverpool, but really waiting to raise some revenue for the City of Centennial. Because there are no stoplights on Liverpool, they get people speeding both up the hill and down the hill. The speed limit is 40 on Liverpool, so plan on riding your brakes going down the hill in order not to speed.
S. Quebec Street near E. Costilla Avenue
Both speed and illegal turns are enforced. A cruiser will often park on E. Costilla, out of view, and an officer will clock traffic coming down the hill (northbound), just before Arapahoe. Also, as it’s posted that there are no right turns into the Walnut Hills neighborhood between 7:30 – 9:30 am, they often wave people over who try to turn there.
(Centennial, Arapahoe County)
S. Yosemite Street near E. Dry Creek Road
While driving northbound on S. Yosemite Street, approximately three city blocks south of E. Dry Creek Road, you will crest a hill. At the bottom of hill, on either the right-hand side street called E. Panorama Drive, or in the medium of S. Yosemite Street, itself,, an Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Dept. marked, traffic unit squad car (on behalf of the City of Centennial, and to whom the citation fine’s, go to), is often running radar in this 35-mph zone, for northbound traffic. The downhill slope of the road will increase your speed, so keep it at 40-mph, or less!
Parker Road near quebec Street
Look out on all major routes between Parker road and Quebec Street in Centennial. There is an unmarked Chevy Impala with dark tinted windows that parks with its hazards on in the turn lane at the top of hills and intersections. This is a detectives car and will pull you over.
yosemite Street near drycreek Road
Sherrif hides in the bottom of the bowl on yosemite st. The same guy hides all over between quebec and yosemite and dry creek and countyline. He has been known to write tickets for 37 in a 35. Really pay attention to your speed coming down into the bowl.
